The flat Esquilino is located in via Panisperna in a faithful restored town house (palazzo condominiale) from the 17th century. The position of this street is very good and central in the well-known historical part of Rome. In the ancient Rome this area was called “Esquilin”, one of the 7 hills, where the noble persons, the patricians, had their villas. Today this area is just right for those who want to see and discover the historical center with all its well-known sights on foot: the churches S. Maria Maggiore and S. Pietro in Vincoli, the Colosseum, the Forum Romanum, The Forums of the Roman Emperors, the Domus Aurea of Nero, the thermal springs of Diokletian, Piazza Barberini, Piazza Venezia and so on…
Via Panisperna is located in a reduced-traffic area, permitted only for residents. Also the small electric bus 117 passes nearby, you can go with it to the Lateran Basilica and to Piazza del Popolo. In Via Nazionale there are also other busses which connect you with the Vatican City and the south of Rome (EUR).
Via Panisperna and Via dei Serpenti were the streets of the artist-craftsmen, still today you can find the small stores, and there are many nice and typical trattorias and pizzerias. Via Nazionale and Via Cavour are well-known boulevards for shopping.
Our flat (ca. 100 sqm) is located on the 3rd floor (without elevator, but the staircase is large and comfortable). You enter in a spacious entrance room, to the right there is the renovated kitchen (washing machine and dish washer), passing through a living room with TV, three-piece suite, phone (only for reception and local call) and small table for eating, you can reach all the other rooms: a bedroom (inside without window), another bedroom with 2 beds and a living/dining room with double bed settee and TV, the 2nd bedroom and the living room with view to Via Panisperna. The bathroom (with bathtub) can be reached by a small corridor.
The furnishings are in the style of the 50’s, but very well-kept. Autonomous central heating (gas).
In a building in front of the town-house there is a private garage (parking lot for money).
