COSTA DE LA LUZ - "Küste des Lichts" - heißt der südspanische Küstensaum am Atlantik zwischen Gibraltar und Portugal. Das erquickend klare Wasser im Zusammenspiel mit der Sonne könnte diesen Namen geprägt haben.Westlich der Provinzhauptstadt Huelva erstreckt sich über 50 km die spanische Algarve. Pinienwälder säumen ihre langen, feinen, beinahe paradiesisch anmutenden und weitgehend unberührten Sandstrände und Buchten.
Ausflugsziele:
In der Nähe von Huelva machte sich der berühmteste Reisende aller Zeiten auf den Weg: Christopher Columbus stach in Palos de la Frontera im August 1492 in See, um Indien zu finden - eine riesige Staue erinnert an den großen Entdecker Amerikas; Nachbauten seiner drei Karavellen - Santa Maria, Pinta und Niña - ankern im Rio Tinto und erinnern an die epochale Reise vor 500 Jahren.
Weitere lohnenswerte Ausflugsziele:

-Sevilla, in einer Std. zu erreichen
-Punta Umbria, der Hauptsommerferienort der Provinz Huelva
