Casa Mandrolla is a small bungalow on the top of a hill, 80m above the sea and 200 meters straight line from the sea. It has 2450 m² and is located on the southern outskirts of the town, in the rural residential area (green zone, construction ban zone). Although surrounded by villas and fields, one can see and feel the coastline and at the same time the urbanity of the town. So the house is well located: close enough to the beach and town center - but enough away from the high summer season crowds. Ten to fifteen walking minutes to the village/town center/harbor/Trentova beach. There are three terraces at the house, as well as paths and open spaces on the property. On the arrival of my dear guests the garden could be either "wild" or has just been "kept in check". Restorations to the outdoor facilities are essentially finalized, some subtleties must still be done, the work will continue after the bathing season. The pictures are from February / March / June 2010 – in the meantime, it is possible that the weeds have grown back. The three mentioned terraces around the house are not included in the square footage of living area.The bungalow accommodates a maximum of two adults and maybe a child, but there is no bed for the baby anymore.

Ein Netz von schmalen Bergstraßen führt zu den Hügeln des antiken Cilento zu den Orten Velia, Ogliastro, Prignano, Torchiara, Laureana, Rocca Cilento und vielen anderen. Auch auf den Straßen zu den Bergen in weniger geschichtsträchtige Orte bieten sich unglaublich schöne Panoramen! Mehrere Male wurde der Cilento mit dem "Blauen Band Europas" ausgezeichnet, im blauen Führer von "Legambiente" (Liga zur Bewahrung der Umwelt) und des Touring-Clubs aufgeführt. Der Cilento wurde von der UNESCO 1997 zum Weltreservat der Biosphäre und 1998 zum Welterbe der Menschheit erklärt. Der Sinn dieser Würdigung durch die UNESCO bezieht sich jedoch vor allem auf das Wesen der Kulturlandschaften und auf das einmalige System historischer Zeugnisse, das sich wichtiger archäologischer Vorkommen wie Paestum und Velia (dem antiken Elea der Vor-Sokratiker)rühmen kann, bereichert durch ein dichtes Gewebe historischer Zentren und bedeutender geschichtlicher und landschaftlicher Erscheinungen. Schnell erreichbar: Tempel von Paestum; Altstadt Salerno, Vietri sul Mare (traditionsreiche, berühmte Herstellung von Kacheln), Costiera Amalfittana, Costiera Sorrentina, Capri, Ischia. Das außerhalb des Cilento gelegene Neapel ist wegen seiner großen Anzahl an künstlerischen und geschichtlichen Monumenten von großer Bedeutung. Es gibt dort sehr viele alte Kirchen, der weitaus geringere Teil, etwa 130 geöffnet, mit Gemälden und Fresken. Darüber hinaus die Museen – und Häfen! Die Stadt ist älter als viertausend Jahre, und die neue Stadt (Nea Polis - Napoli) datiert vor Beginn unserer Zeitrechnung. |

Sandstrände, Felsstrände, Spaziergänge am Meer, Piazza (täglich allgemeiner Passeggio), Straßen- und Strandleben, Kino, Sommerveranstaltungen und Tanzvergnügungen, zu manchen Festtagen ein Feuerwerk. Zu Ferragosto (15. August) großes Fest (in ganz Italien). Wer die Ausrüstung mitbringt, kann para-glyden und an der Felsküste tauchen (südlich von Agropoli). Am Hafen Boote und Segelboote für Ausfahrten entlang der Cilento-Küste zu mieten (Anlaufstelle des südlichen Thyrenn: nach Capri, Salerno, Punta Licosa, Palinuro (in der Nähe schöne Grotten mit malerischen Felsformationen), Camerota, zu den Äeolischen Inseln. Im Sommer ergeben sich auch Verbindungen der Schnellbootlinie "Metrò del Mare" mit Halt in Agropoli, Salerno, Capri, Napoli, San Marco di Castelllabate, Acciaroli, Palinuro, Camerota und Sapri. |
