| Situated in a peaceful rural woodland idyll, this holiday home is located on an attractive 5,000-m2 plot of land. Just 500 metres from the house is a lake where fishing is permitted free of charge, while two kilometres away is a local river where further opportunities to land a catch for the family supper. Alternatively, slightly further afield is the Skjern River, which is known for its salmon and also contains sea and river trout, eel, pike and perch. The area around the town of Sønder Omme is an attractive mixture of woodland, moorland, lakes and rivers, making it perfect for walking and cycling. A little further away is Ringkøbing Fjord, which offers excellent windsurfing opportunities. Close to the town of Grindsted can be found Grene Sande, with its own characteristic landscape of large inland dunes, heather and woodland. In addition, the former coal-producing settlement at Ejstrup Lakes close to Skjern is well worth a visit. Today, the area has been transformed into a delightful recreational region with undulating terrain, fishing lakes and well-marked paths. In addition to its natural attractions, the Sønder Omme area offers numerous other activity choices. Ten kilometres away, Grindsted offers bowling facilities and a go-karting track, while in the town of Sønder Omme itself attractions include an open-air swimming pool and tennis courts. There are also many golf courses in the area. In addition, popular family attractions such as Legoland and Givskud Safari Park are just a half-hour drive from the holiday home. Many of the nearby towns offer good shopping opportunities, and Herning also offers plenty of cultural choices. The town is well known for its with delightful specialist shops, and exciting museums such as the Museum of Textile Industry and Design, the Herning Art Museum and a museum devoted to COBRA-movement artists Carl-Henning Petersen and Else Alfelts. The town is also characterized by its famous public artwork "Elia". Overall, a trip to Herning is sure to be a rich experience for all the family.
