Description
Saint-Melany is situated on the river Drobie. Nature is overwhelming there. Although it belongs to a well-known touristic region, this border region between Cevennes and Ardèche is still rather quiet. We are the owners of four holiday homes there. The houses are all built in natural stone. They lie next to each other, but each of them has its own privacy. Each house has its garden and terrace, with a barbecue and garden furniture. The houses are well-equipped with a fridge, deepfreezer, electrical oven etc. The houses offer accommodation for four to six persons. In the valley of the Drobie there are a lot of possibilities. The Drobie with its very clean water is suitable for different kinds of water sport like swimming and canoeing. Also for small children it's a very delightful place to have 'water fun'. In the surrounding hills one can take long walks and there are leaflets of footpaths available, with a lot of information about the fauna and the flora of the region. A special attraction of this region is also its climate, one is actually in the south of France. The agreeable climate is a mild contrast to the sometimes overwhelming heat of the Provence. Leaving Saint-Melany one can also make trips to some traditional sights of the South, like Avignon, Orange and Nimes, which are within rather good reach. Saint-Melany lies at 2O km from Joyeuse, 4O km from Aubenas and 45 km from Vallon Pont D'Arc ( the start of the Gorges de l'Ardèche ). You can contact us if you like to see photographs of the houses.
