The area called PETRES, 12 km west of RETHYMNON town,is not a village,onyl some houses,nearly no tourism,but 2 taverns,the Cretan like to go to,and HOUSE KATHERINA,a private house straight at the beach in a garden.The owners are living upstairs,at the backside to the beach,there are only 4 units, 1 STUDIO for 2 people and 3 APARTMENTS for up to 3 persons and the new POOL.Separate exite wth good possiblities for snorkeling, a fire place for barbeque and a 10 km long sandy beach beginning in a distance of 500 meter.Each unit has a sitting area with SAT TV,aircondition, a kitchenet and private fassilities with shower,the a apartments a separate bedroom.In the area there are possibilities for some walkings,several typical village in a bit bigger distance,but also bird watching and in spring a lot of plants,flowers etc..Possibilities for shopping in the village of KAVROS and GEORGIOUPOLIS or in the town of RETHYMNON.For Crete a car is anyway helpful,but here not alway nessecary,because there is also local busservice available.
