This area in the Provence is ideal for outdoor activities with a tennis court in the village, a small air field 5 minutes drive west (delta plane, montgolfière, canoeing, horse riding, cycling in the forest paths). You are in a rural community and a farming area (sheep pass by in the evening coming back from their grazing). The village is surrounded by orchard, sunflower fields, vineyard, olive trees. This medieval village is built around its château and an old church with a wonderful sculpture of Mary on top of it protecting the village.Itinerant merchants pass by everyday, including the baker twice a week. There is a small store in the next village named St Laurent la Vernède, 2 kms cast and a winery. Markets are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays mornings in Uzès town, very famous for the quality and variety of the items sold (cheeses, saucissons etc.) at bargain prices.Accommodations: It’s a three bedroom house (8 persons) with three double bedrooms upstairs. One bathroom with a separate toilet. Another bathroom downstairs with shower separate toilets. The living room with a fire place, TV connection near a convertible sofa for two persons, is very big. A dining area by the kitchen all equipped in modern standard (dishwasher, etc.) A separate room with washing and drying machines and a deep freeze. The house is all decorated in white, floor boarding everywhere. It is a bright new house, cool in the summer, lot of light coming in from various windows overlooking the surrounding woods and a private meadows. Very calm and secluded.The large shaded terrace on front (south side) is wonderful for eating, resting and enjoying the sight of the swimming pool. The swimming pool has been built to look like a mini-lagoon (16 by 14 meters slowly going to 2 meters deep at the center). Very safe for children and wonderful for swimming for every ages. All is surrounded by a large garden and a lot of trees lighted at nights. A heaven for birds and crickets. Leisure and entertainment : Should you want to go visiting, the sea side is only an hour and a half drive away. There are the Cévènnes for trekking in the mountains or swimming in the river, same distance for the Alpes.Avignon is an hour away with the Pope’s palace, numerous musical festivals, Château Neuf du Pape’s vineyard.Don’t forget to visit the ever famous Pont du Gard (15 minutes drive). A Roman Aqueduct lighted all night long. An absolute wonder.In Nîmes are held some wonderful shows in the remarkably wall preserved Roman Arènes. Mostly famous singers and musical shows (Céline Dion, Jean-Jacques Goldman, ZZ Top, etc.)And Arles, a mere hour drive is the Capital of the Camargue, marshes and rivers mingling why not have lunch on the boats slowing going up and down the Rhône river. Untamed horses and bull roaming among pink Floyd goes.In the beach resort of «La Grande Motte», one can rent a boat for a day outing and fishing or parachute pulled by speed boats or classic jumping from a crane, sensations guaranteed. On this place, don’t forget to go to the famous Casino !Uzès area, an ancient Duchy much of which was built in the 16th Century (10 minutes away from Fontarèches) provides all sort of musical festivals, restaurants with various sort of food or better than the other antiques shops, art galleries, pottery, sculpture or local production as soap dive oil, lavender All very typical of Provence - like «Soleïado» Provencal material. There are so many things not mentioned on this list that you will discover by yourself during your stay. The house 'Di Paro', from the 18th century, is typical for the villages of the Cyclades, completely restored and partially built into the rocks that rise above the village of Levkes, one of the most beautiful villages of the Cyclades, showing to the rising sun, opposite the isle of Naxos.The house has a garden with a lemon, an olive and a fig tree, rosmary, lavender and vine, a vine arbour shadowing the first terrace. There are 3 terraces on the roof.The house is furnished with some antique furniture that requires the carefulness of the guests. The house is completely equipped (with inventory), apart from the beach towels. There are some plastic dishes. One of the bedrooms is out of the house. A cleaning woman comes once a week and a gardener takes care of the garden.There are two butchers and a supermarket with delivery in the village and the farmers sell their goods at stalls. The village is situated in the centre of the island and can be reached by bus. There are a chemist and cafés in the village.La maison dite "Di Paro" est une maison typique de village des cyclades du XVIII, entièrement restaurée et donc en partie troglodyte qui surplombe le village de Levkes, un des plus beaux des Cyclades, au soleil levant, face à l'île de Naxos.La maison a un jardin avec un citronnier, des oliviers, du romarin. de la lavande, un figuier et de la vigne, une treille qui amène de l'ombre sur la première terrasse. Il y a 3 terrasses sur les toits. La maison est meublée de quelques beaux meubles anciens qui exigent que les locataires soient soigneux. La maison est entièrement équipée (il y a un inventaire), sauf les serviettes de plage mais la vaisselle est en partie en plastique. Une des chambres à coucher est extérieure. Une femme de ménage vient nettoyer une fois par semaine, et un jardinier s'occupe du jardin.Il y a 2 bouchers et un supermarché qui livre, dans le village et des paysans qui vendent à la criée. Le village de Levkes est au centre de l'île et est desservi par un autobus. Il y a une pharmacie, des cafés.
