| Villa Pigi has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room and kitchen with dining area. The villa can accommodate up to six people. The property has all the characteristics of a traditional Cretan village house, but has been furnished in a modern minimalist style. This will allow you to have the comfort and convenience of today’s lifestyle intermingled with a little taste of Crete’s history and culture. Entry through the front door brings you into the living room which has been tastefully furnished and has a sofa that folds down to provide extra sleeping accommodation. The kitchen/dining area is at the opposite end of the room and a staircase takes you up to the first floor. Here you find the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, fitted wardrobes and a dressing table. The staircase continues into the loft where there is a further bedroom again with fitted wardrobes and dressing table. Externally there is a very pleasant court yard of mature plants and trees -a perfect place to sit and relax during the long, warm summer evenings. Also situated in the courtyard for your enjoyment is a Jacuzzi/hot tub. Internally the house has been equipped to a high standard and includes such features as a fully fitted kitchen and for your entertainment a home cinema system. The overall effect is of the past mixing with the present, giving you the best of both worlds. The villa is situated in the heart of Pigi village, only meters from the village square. Pigi is a traditional working village that has changed very little over the years. Although close to the tourist areas it has retained its character and offers all those who visit it an opportunity to experience the true Cretan lifestyle. Wandering around the narrow streets of whitewashed houses you sense that you have stepped back in time. To time when life was so much more relaxing than today. For all its natural charm and beauty, Pigi is well equipped to cater for all its visitors. There are two mini markets, a pharmacy, butcher, bakers and two tavernas who serve traditional Cretan food. Buses for the town of Rethymno pass through the village every hour. The village has easy access to both the local beaches and the highway, making traveling to either of Crete’s airports very easy indeed. |
